Constant temperature bath designed for kinematic viscosity tests using glass capillary viscometers. Also suitable for other applications requiring extremely precise temperature control. Features digital solid state temperature control accurate to within +/-0.01°C (+/-0.02°F) at temperatures up to 154°C (310°F). Temperature selection is made by dialing the desired value on the digital LCD display - bath temperature then stabilizes within +/-0.5°C (+/-1°F) of the setpoint. Adjust within +/-0.01°C using the fine tuning control. A selector switch at the rear of the bath permits selection of either °C or °F temperature scale for setpoint and display. High output chrome plated immersion heaters provide efficient heat transfer, and a turbine stirrer circulation system provides temperature uniformity without causing turbulence or entrainment of air bubbles. A continuous heat circuit permits heating of the bath liquid at several times the normal rate. For operation at ambient temperatures or below, circulate tap water or refriderated coolant through the built-in cooling coil.

Standard Model and Turntable Model - Standard model accommodates six glass capillary viscometers. Select either 12" (30.5cm) or 18" (46cm) bath depth, and specify round or rectangular viscometer ports. Turntable model accomodates twelve round viscometer holders. Freely moving turntable permits each viscometer to be positioned at the front of the bath for easy viewing. Bath interior of both models is brightly illuminated by a fluorescent lamp. Bath control housing and heat shield are finished with corrosion resistant polyurethane enamel. Control unit is mounted in removable drawer for ease of servicing, if required. Temperature Limit Control - A temperature limit control circuit automatically interrupts power to the bath when equipment malfunction or operator error causes the temperature to exceed 16.7&176;C (30&3176;F) above the setpoint or 177°C (350&176;F). Power is also interrupted at any temperature if the PT-RTD sensor probe becomes disconnected or malfunctions. Power must then be restored manually by the operator after checking the cause of the problem.
