Operating range to -1000°F (-730°C)
For low temperature kinematic viscosity determinations on liquid petroleum products.
Fully insulated bath uses cooling mixtures to attain temperatures as low as -1000°F
(-730°C). Electronic solid state controller maintains temperature uniformity of +0.050F
(±0.030°C) throughout the operating range.
Stainless steel dry ice containers suspend from the top plate into the cooling chamber
for standard cooling, and two brass containers suspend directly into the cooling medium for
rapid cool down if needed. Finished steel cabinet has a full 3" (7.6 cm) of cork insulation
surrounding the interior chamber.
Accommodates three glass capillary viscometers in a PyrexTM jar.
Large 11-1/4" x 6-1/4" (28.6 x 15.9 cm) viewing window has seven hermetically sealed panes
to prevent frosting. An externally mounted variable intensity lamp illuminatesthe bath interior
through an insulated opaque rear window. Stainless steel bath stirrer is driven by
a 1/20 hp 1750 RPM explosion-proof motor.
Sturdy 1/2" (1.3 cm) composition top plate supports stirrer assembly, viscometer holders,
coolant cylinders, thermistor probe and the thermometer, and is easily removed for access
to the interior.
